Music: Wilder Mind by Mumford & Sons

MUSIC is a segment that features a song that’s caught my brain. Some new to me, some known to me, all brilliant.

I am met with this question almost daily now: Why are you like this? It’s usually meant in good fun. I can laugh at myself and I need to because I’m not exactly rocking a cookie-cutter lifestyle.

I don’t care to be longwinded. Suffice it to say that between reading tarot and writing erotica, I suppose I decided to make people as uncomfortable with my taboo life as possible (lol)…

I don’t know that this gif fits the concept but I like the idea of it. Also #jeffgoldblum.

I have mentioned Wilder Mind as a necessary song to my life’s soundtrack. It’s a brilliant song to just walk around to or get lost with. Every time I listen to it, I find something new to appreciate in sound and sentiment. I’ve always had a wild mind and lived a great portion of my life not listening to that part of my mind. I tried to conform to molds and standards and the more I succeeded in burying myself in that lie the worse I felt. It took time but I know who I am. I know what I’m about. I know what I want and what I don’t. And so I live my life accordingly.
Dare to dream.

Lyrics (provided by, Genius), Wilder Mind by Mumford & Sons. Album, Wilder Mind.

[Verse 1]
It’s in my blood, it’s in my water
You try to tame me, tame me from the start
When the din is in your eye, flash your flesh
Desperate for a need to rise

[Pre-Chorus]
With a silver crystal on
How well you used to know how to shine
In the place that’s safe from harm
I had been blessed with a wilder mind

[Chorus]
You can be every little thing you want nobody to know
And you can try to drown out the street below
And you can call it love
If you want

[Verse 2]
Beholden now I find myself awake
Waiting on the edge again
You sleep so sound with your mind made up
Drinking from your cup of broken ends

[Pre-Chorus]
With a silver crystal on
How well you used to know how to shine
In the place that’s safe from harm
I had been blessed with a wilder mind

[Chorus]
You can be every little thing you want nobody to know
And you can try to drown out the street below
And you can call it love
If you want
